How Fear Killed Civilisation as We Know It
Regardless of how this all turns out our lives will never be the same. Future sociology students will talk about the 2020 pandemic and roll their eyes. Either that or we’ll all be cyborgs.
(Apologetic re-post from October because I’m a noob and accidentally created two separate substacks so just wanted everything in the one place)
This is what I predict will be the heading of a publication about 5 years from now. This is going to be a unique time in history for psychology, sociology and history students worldwide to look back on with what I imagine will be shock, incredulity and hopefully anger. Because here and now in October 2021, whilst it seems some of our population can see entirely where we are headed others have not cleaned the windscreen or perhaps aren’t even looking at the road.
Is it unique? Or are we repeating history? Drawing parallels between the pandemic response and Nazi Germany isn’t hard. Accepting that we may be repeating history is what’s hard. Who would ever have thought with our technology and advances and woke society that we could ever go down that path again? That couldn’t happen right?
I am still hopeful that part of what they look back on will be the bravery and indomitable spirit of the people in overcoming the tyrannical and totalitarian governments. That they will say how this fight for our freedoms was hard won. I cannot consider that we will lose. I will not. Post pandemic life will look a lot different but we will survive. And hopefully, learn.
The worldwide narrative that these safe and effective vaccines are our way out of this pandemic has failed. There is no other way to look at it. However instead of governments stopping the whole thing and changing course they are simply doubling down. More vaccines. Boosters. Boosters for the boosters. Ah ha! We just need to vaccinate the kids that will fix it. Wait now we need to vaccinate babies. Damn now the elderly need another booster. Anyone picturing a dog chasing its tail? It’s simply ludicrous yet this is the state of the world right now. Oh wait, it’s these damn unvaccinated ruining everything. Mandates! Mandates! Vaccinate everyone! Now!
What I have noticed personally is that I am living way more in a state of fight or flight than I ever have before in my life. I’m worried for myself, my kids, my family and friends, my job, my bank balance, my retirement. I am worried about our lives and how they are being permanently effected by our government and health officials. What I am not worried about is Covid.
I am googling how to retire in Mexico. Inventing plan A, B and C for my options based on all the what-ifs that might happen. It’s very challenging to shake that off and bring myself back to the present. It’s also very disconcerting to have so little control over what is happening to society and by extension, my own life. The future may not work out as I planned.
Here’s the only thing I can do. I refuse to give in to fear. Fear kills. Fear ruins lives. Fear causes holocausts.
The Lancet has just published an article showing the effectiveness of an anti-depressant treatment on Covid outcomes. An anti-depressant. Think about that for a minute. Our governments haven’t done very well in stopping Covid but they get an A+ for instilling fear in the population. Same with the media. Oh look this poor 12 year old girl died of Covid, see! Everyone be afraid it can kill you all! Oh wait she had a brain tumour sorry about that. But you are still all going to die!
I’m not telling anyone else what to do. I’m not judging anyone on their choices. This is a time in history where every individual on this planet has to decide who they are and what’s important to them. And they will have to live with the consequences of the choices they make. All I’m saying is perhaps don’t let fear be the driver of those choices. Take your time. Breathe.
Sending everyone who reads this peace and love 🕊
I don't have much. And most of what I have is paid for. But, as a boomer I can feel your pain regarding the future. If "they" get their evil one world monetary system and can shut off our money if we don't tow the line I have no idea what we are going to do. But I *refuse* to focus on that. I, like yourself, have chosen courage. I plan to deal with whatever comes when it comes while *standing firm* in liberty for myself and my loved ones until my dying breath. Excellent posts. :)
And we have an election coming up. Our leaders stood idly by while state leaders demolished our freedoms. Lib/Labor, doesn't matter; they are both inextricably tied to the globalust. They will not get my vote again.
